Catchup Part II

Tom and Joan's Visit

Tom and Joan stopped by for a short stay on their way back from visiting Sara and Jonathan in Colorado. Hal and Tom played golf and Joan and I had a great time shopping and visiting!

Dance Recital -"I'm a Star - Broadway"!

The theme of this recital was Broadway - with lots of fun music from the Broadway shows - past and present.
With 5 granddaughters and a grandson in the recital, of course we were there! Wearing masks and social distancing, we enjoyed the performances.
Violet our tumbling and dancing girl

This was London's first recital and she was a little shy and spent much of her dance watching the audience - but when your just 4, you can get away with just showing up and looking cute!!

Ruby and Evie are in the same class and they danced several numbers together.

Jessica and the Kids Come for a Summer Stay

Jessica and Adam were remodeling their home in Seattle so we invited them to come and stay with us while the work was in progress. Adam stayed behind to monitor the work there and Jessica came with Liam and Gigi. They were delighted to spend time with their cousins and we were happy to have them with us!

June - "Come Follow Me" Lesson and Birthdays

We began the evening with our "Come Follow Me Lesson" and then we celebrated the family June birthdays. Kyra turned 19 on June 12th but was unable to attend that evening because she had to work. Kyra is a CNA and a phlebotomist and worked at a care center in Provo for the summer.

London celebrated her 4th birthday on June 15th!

London is the youngest of the cousins and all of the older cousins make a huge fuss over her - which she loves!
She received a "makeup kit" as one of her gifts and the girls fixed her up to look beautiful!

Hallmark Movie Shoot

Downtown Payson, Utah was used to film the Hallmark movie: Christmas Tree Lane starring, Andrew Walker and Alicia Witt. As of writing this blog post, the movie has already aired on the Hallmark channel, but will probably be re-aired again before Christmas. Payson was chosen because the shops on Main Street are  still in their original vintage condition and suited the plot of the movie.
Main Street in Payson was transformed (in late June) to look as if it was winter with snow, Christmas trees and decorations.
Knowing that they were filming each evening, a group of us went downtown to watch. They were working on some scenes with star - Alicia Witt; and they let us observe from across the street. It was fun to see how did the lighting and sound and to witness some of the production.
It was also fun to wander thru town and see how they had transformed it.
This group includes many of my granddaughters along with some friends that were also there on that very warm June evening.
Rielly's is an actual store in Payson but was transformed into Reilly's music store for the movie and played an important part in the movie's plot.
This photo shows Jessica and Gigi with star - Andrew Walker. He was such a nice person and so friendly, he took time to talk to people and to pose for lots of pictures with the girls.
Another shot of our group along with some friends.

  1. Oh how fun to watch them film a movie. Maybe I'll have to subscribe to the Hallmark channel. As we drove through Payson the other day, I commented to Ken that this street is so old and nostalgic. Fun times with your family, too. I hope Jessica will post pictures of her renovated home. She is such an amazing decorator.

  2. Patty, I loved seeing pics of your beautiful grandkids. That's so fun that all of those cousins take dance lessons at the same place and can be in recitals together. They seem to love to be together. That's intriguing about the Hallmark movie being filmed in Payson. I'm going to watch for it. I remember when they filmed a movie at Ogden High School (an old historic building) with Melissa Joan Hart when Mindy was in high school.
