Our New Grandson

We were thrilled to welcome a new grandson on May 11 (Mother's Day) - Dexter Stuart Mickelsen.  Dex weighs 6 lbs. 6 oz. and is 20 inches.

Hailey and Conrad are such cute parents!

Dex with his eyes open!  We Skyped with them last week but he slept through our visit so we love this picture of Dex when he was awake!
So tiny and yet so perfect!  Babies are amazing!
How I wish I could hold him!

Hailey and Conrad had double good news last week.  The Friday before the baby was born, Conrad found out that he had passed the BAR exam!  They are now trying to decide what comes next and where they will go.  Arizona, Utah and Idaho are on their short list but who knows where life will take them?

Goodbye to April - Hello May

Teaching English

Each Tuesday evening we teach an English class.  After our 45 minute lesson, we share a short gospel message, our testimonies and we close with prayer.  These lessons are of course provided free and our goal is to attract investigators and less active members as well as providing this service.

Yang's Baptism

We were privileged to attend the baptism of Yang - a young Chinese student.  It was a unique baptism in that it was in mostly English with a segment in Chinese and even a segment in Spanish also translated into English and the hymns were all sung in German.  Yang was so happy to make this important step in his eternal progression.  He is a bright young man and a wonderful addition to our multi-cultural ward!

New Puppy

Our friend Susan has a darling new puppy - Marshmellow ( Mellow).  We had to make a visit to welcome this new addition.  We always enjoy seeing Susan and having an opportunity to get to know her better.

 Luncheon

On the last day of April, we invited our friend Sabina and the Sister Missionaries over for lunch.

May Day Ward Picnic

May first is a holiday in Germany (much like our Labor Day).
Our ward had a picnic at a park.  The weather was nice and we enjoyed socializing, games and sharing our picnics .

 Buddy Hornbach Bear

We spotted this bear in front of a large construction supply store.  He was so cute we had to stop and take some pictures.
