Luncheons and The Tea Party

While Jessica was here, we had many family gatherings. The Tea Party was the highlight for the girls - complete with fancy food and all the granddaughters dressed as little princesses!

Jessica and Gigi 's Visit

Jessica and Gigi spent just over a week with us
! It is so easy to get attched to a new baby and Gigi has found her place in our hearts! It was hard to say goodbye, but we will be seeing them again in about 6 weeks for a family reunion. While they were here, we had lots of family gatherings, sister luncheons and even a trip to Logan to decorate the family graves and spend time with Hailey and Conrad.

Blessing Ella and Gigi

Our past two weekends have been busy and very special. Sunday - May 2nd we blessed Eleanor Patricia and then had a wonderful family gathering and dinner at Allison and Jon's home. Ella is a good natured and beautiful baby and a very welcome addition to the Woidka home. Alex told me a few days ago that he would trade Ella for our dog - Pretzel, but I know he really didn't mean it!! Lillian is a big helper to her mom and she adores her new sister. Sam has taken the new baby in stride and loves to give her hugs and brush her soft hair with his hand and cheek.

This past Saturday - May 8th we blessed Georgia Gene in our home in Salem. Jessica and Adam flew in from California so that both families could attend this special event. After her blessing we enjoyed a "Cafe Rio" (homemade version) dinner and time to get better acquainted with Adam's family. Gigi is a beautiful and sweet little girl with very definite ideas about how she is to be held. She simply must face outward so that she can see everything that is going on! She reminds me a lot of Jessica when she was a baby. Gigi has discovered her hands and that they can grab things - a delightful baby stage!

On Sunday, Adam, Jessica, Gigi, Conrad and Hailey attended our MTC Branch with us after enjoying lunch in the MTC Cafeteria. It was another special day. Later that evening we all gathered at Trica and James' home for a Mother's Day Barbecue. The cousins had another opportunity to be together. Wild games ensued and unfortunately, Kyra fell off the trampoline and broke her wrist so the day ended with a visit to the hospital to have her wrist set and Grandma and Grandpa took the other Mickelsen grandchildren home and put them to bed. Kyra is healing and doing well. I am sure Kelly will give more details of that misadventure in her blog.

All in all, we feel very blessed to have 2 new granddaughters officially blessed and in our growing family!
