Alex's Eagle Scout Project, January and February Birthdays and visits with sisters!

Alex's Eagle Scout Project

With the help and support of Jon and Allison, Alex put together an "Emergency Preparedness Fair".  With 6 informative stations that participants could rotate through, it was an excellent project.  Alex had arranged for expert teachers on each topic to present their important information.  We were so proud of Alex for his efforts and organization!
Grandpa Woidka flew from El Cajon, California to attend this event and support Alex!

Sam's Birthday Party - January 17, 2016

The family gathered to celebrate Sam's 9th birthday!
Even Minnie attended the party!
Our very creative Alex made a BB-8 using a remote control device from a toy truck and a plastic ball.  He is destined to be an inventor of some kind!
Sam turned 9 this year!
Here is our birthday boy with his chocolate chip cookie, ice cream sandwich, birthday cake!  That is what he wanted most!
Blowing the candles out!
Delighted with his birthday gifts!

Dorothy & Violet's Birthday Celebration

Dorothy's birthday is January 10th and she turned 12 - a very important birthday!!  She is now officially a Young Woman!
Violet shares the same birth date with Sam - January 17th.  Tricia decided to combine Dorothy and Violet's family birthday celebrations.  So of course, she baked and decorated two birthday cakes!
Cute Dorothy was delighted with her gifts!

Our two birthday girls!!
Family members attending the party!

February also brings Adam's birthday on February 2nd ( Ground Hog's Day) and Kelly's birthday on February 13th!  We love this "son" and "daughter" and we are so happy to have them in our family!!

Joan and Tom's Visit

The first weekend of February, Tom and Joan came to Utah for a visit.  Tom skied with Taylor and Joan and I went sister shopping (which is always the best kind of shopping!).  We enjoyed visiting and going out to dinner on Friday evening.  We went to a Salem restaurant that serves Louisiana food.
Hal & I had the shrimp poor boy sandwiches and Joan had a shrimp salad and Tom had the jambalaya & etouffee plate special.  The food was delicious and we enjoyed being together!

Trip to Vegas and celebrating Pam's Birthday

Hal and I decided to take a trip south to St. George and then on to Las Vegas on the weekend of February 12th - 14th.  We arrived in Vegas early enough to shop before our dinner reservation.
Pam and I both loved this display in the Anthropology store.  The paint was real and so interesting!
Here we are outside the "fancy pants" French restaurant where we had dinner.
Enjoying our delicious meal!
The food was exceptional!  We enjoyed:
Alaskan King Crab Salad
Beef Cheeks
Lobster Pasta
I had this delicious assortment of tarts for dessert!  Everything was so yummy!!
Hal, of course, had to send annoying photos to the kids to let them know about our gourmet meal!
This special meal was in honor of Pam's birthday and it was Hal and my Valentine gifts to each other.
After dinner we went to the Aria to attend the acrobatic show Zarkana. Each succeeding act was more amazing than the last!
The next day we went shopping again (the Las Vegas outlet stores are great!) and then ate lunch at the Mon ami Gabi restaurant in the Paris.  Once again we enjoyed wonderful food!
They brought Pam a delicious birthday dessert which she graciously shared with all of us!

Gigi's Birthday - February 19th

Gigi turned 6 this year and is our happy kindergarten girl who was recently chosen as "Student of the Month"!!
