2020 - New Year Events

 Girl's Lunch

January 6, 2020
We always try to go to lunch together whenever Jessica comes to visit. She was here during the last of the holidays and so we went out together on January 6th just before she left to return home.
We ate at MOD Pizza which was really good!
Dorothy joined us when she took a very long lunch break from school! Gigi, Liam, Dex and London were also with us.

February

The Hobbit

Sam played the part of Ori, one of the Hobbits in the Spanish Fork Youth Theatre musical production of The Hobbit.

This version of The Hobbit has cute music, dialogue and dancing and has been written to be performed by children. The kids began working on their parts with rehearsals beginning last September. The costuming and sets were well done and the kids did an awesome job!

We were sure proud of our hobbit - Sam!!!

Jessica, Liam and Gigi's Visit

Gigi and Liam had "Winter Break" from school for a week in February, so they came to visit. We invited Dex and London to come over to see their cousins. So of course, Grandpa had to play games with all of them!
We had a spaghetti and meatball lunch to celebrate Gigi's 10th Birthday on February 19th! She is growing up so quickly!!

Las Chalitas End of Year Showcase

Lillian tried out and made it on Las Chalitas - the Spanish Fork Drill Team, as a Sophomore. They are awesome! Hal and I went to their showcase performance and we were amazed at how professional they are! The girls' practice every morning before school and have Drill Team as one of their classes plus extra practices as needed. They also practice year around with only 1 week off in the summer and only some of the holidays during the year.
They began the showcase with having each of the girl's escorted out by their parents as they read a short bio about them. Then the show began! Their opening number was a military style performance executed with every move in perfect sync! I was so blown away with how good they were, that I didn't even get a picture of it! They also danced a jazz number and a Hip-Hop number plus several other dances. Everyone was well rehearsed!
Each group of girls (sophomore, junior and senior) presented a number that they had choreographed.

Toward the back of this picture you can see the trophies that the group earned this year. They were 1st place in the Region 8 Competition and took 3rd in the State Competition.
The Las Chalitas dance a Hip-Hop number.
Jazz dance
The last number they all performed together had an Egyptian Theme and costuming with moveable pyramids and lots of action.

Jessica and the kids were there and Violet came to join the Woidka's for this awesome show.

We are really proud of Lillian and the fine dancer she has become!!

Lulu comes for a "Sleep Over"

Hailey and Conrad had a little "getaway" and Lulu came to our house for a "Sleepover". Grandpa and I joined her for some "glowstick" games in the dark and I read to her and told her some stories before she went to bed.  She proudly told me the next morning that, "NO monsters gotted me in the night!" She is a cute little character and has lots to talk about!!
