The morning after we arrived home from Hawaii our kids left for Logan to begin the Wasatch Back Ragnar (an overnight team relay race from Logan to Midway).
Jon & Allison were part of the team.
The race was 200+ miles with lots of difficult up hill and down hill stretches.
I am so proud of them for finishing this tough competition!
I watched Jon and Allison's kids while they were busy running. The kids had been involved in Spanish Fork's Discovering the Arts summer youth classes and we went to the Sharing Showcase to see the displays and program.
Lillian took a cake decorating class and decorated this cute cake!
Sam enrolled in the Discover Magic class and his group demonstrated some of the magic tricks they had learned. The paper cone magically grows into a paper tree!!
Our family magician: Sam
Ella took part in the children's arts and crafts class and had some items on display.
Father's Day & Family Pictures
We honored all the fathers in our family with a family dinner of taco salad. This was one of the very rare occasions when our entire family was together! So, we also took family pictures that day.

After lunch we went to a spot near our home for our family "photo shoot". I have posted the full family picture and the individual family photos plus some others but here are some that may not make it into the family photo album.
The Lyman Gabrielsen Sr. Reunion
On a very hot Saturday afternoon - June 27th, the Gabrielsen family gathered at David and Lorrian's home in Draper for a reunion. It was wonderful to see so many of my cousins and their spouses, kids and grandkids. Our family tree is growing rapidly! One of the highlights was hearing from each of my three aunts - the last of that generation of Gabrielsens.
Aunt Nedra - the last living Gabrielsen sibling
Aunt Gary - Uncle Ronald's wife
Aunt Grace - Uncle Alvin's wife
We enjoyed a potluck picnic lunch, a short program and lots of visiting.

The Lyman Gabrielsen Jr. Family was well represented with all of my siblings and spouses in attendance.

Me with our hostess - Lorriann who was in a very serious boating accident last summer and has made a miraculous recovery. She and David were so gracious to open their beautiful home and yard for our very large clan!
Enjoying my grand kids
Since coming home from our last mission I have really been enjoying my time with the grand kids.
When Jessica and Adam came to Utah to run in the Ragnar, Jessica and the kids were able to spend a week with us. It was so fun to have them here and to spend time with them!
Liam has grown up so much!
We went to lunch with Preston during Jessica's visit.
I have been trying to have special times with my grand kids. One afternoon, I had Ruby, Violet and Dorothy over for lunch and then we made cupcakes together and read stories.
Hal and I also took Preston for a special afternoon - he went shopping with us and then out to lunch.
To be continued...
You are such a cute Grandma. I would love spending time with you! So fun that you live close to your kids now.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your family pics - such a beautiful setting and such a good-looking family! You have been so busy being with your darling grandkids - what cute pics of Allison's kids. That cake Lilian decorated is adorable! And what a good idea to spend time individually with each one. Good for you for catching up. These blogs are such a good family history record.
