Tea Party and Sister Time

The Tea Party is Ready!

This past week I had another wonderful opportunity to spend time with my sisters! Joan arrived on Wednesday and it was fun to spend time with her. She had come to bring Taylor to BYU - her baby has flown the nest! Life will be forever different now for their family. Sara and her 2 cute kids arrived on Thursday and it was great to get better acquainted with them. Then on Friday Kay and Pam arrived. We enjoyed a shopping trip to IKEA and a candle store outlet and a wonderful dinner at a Thai restaurant with a stop for dessert at "The Red Mango". We always have fun being together and catching up on each other's lives. Cindy, we really did miss you and hope that you can join us for a future "Sister get-together" and Tea party.

Special "Sister Lunch" on Friday

Tea Pot flower arrangements - good job Pam, kay and Joan!! Thanks Evan for donating the flowers!

Saturday, we had a Tea Party with daughters and grand daughters (Jessica we missed you and Gigi - and Hailey we sure missed you!) These Tea Parties have become a wonderful tradition. We enjoy lots of tasty food and memories about our ancestors. We try to share with our daughters and grand daughters some special memories and stories that we have of our parents and grand parents. We have such a great heritage and this gives us an opportunity to share it with our posterity!

Sweet Reunion

Our MTC Branch

Our Anna!

As new missionaries arrive to the MTC and we receive information about who is coming to join our branch, we are always watching for Russian natives coming from our Novosibirsk Mission. A few weeks ago we were excited when we noticed among the names - Anna Smirnova from Moscow. We became acquainted with Anna on our first mission to Russia. She was among the Young Women that came to our apartment regularly. She is a sweet and delightful young lady. We knew that she and her family had moved from Novosibirsk to Moscow shortly after we completed our first mission. We were very hopeful that the Anna Smirnova coming to the MTC was the Anna we knew. We were thrilled when she arrived and it was our Anna! It has been great to get reacquainted with her and renew our friendship. She left early this morning for the Ukraine where she will serve her mission. She will be a wonderful missionary.

This week we will say goodbye to over half of our missionaries. During the next 2 weeks we will receive new missionaries and the cycle will begin again. We really do enjoy working with these wonderful young men and women. There truly is a special spirit at the MTC and we feel privileged to have this assignment.

Tricia and James' shaved ice was a hit!

Farewell Dinner for Conrad and Hailey

Last Friday the family gathered to say goodbye to Conrad and Hailey. They are moving to Phoenix so that Conrad can attend Law School there. We enjoyed some Mexican food and said our goodbyes. We wish them well in this new chapter of their lives!!
