Sam's Baptism and Joan and Tom's Visit

Sam's Baptism

Samuel Gregory Woidka was baptized by Jon on Saturday - February 7, 2015.  Alex gave the opening prayer for the service and Lillian gave a wonderful talk on the gift of the Holy Ghost.  We were so very proud of all of them!

Sam just glowed with excitement.  He understood what an important step he was taking in his eternal progression.
The Woidka Family on Sam's special day
Jon's parents - Greg and Helena Woidka made the long drive from El Cajon, California so that they could be in attendance for this most important event.   Sam had lots of support and love. After the baptism, we all gathered at Allison and Jon's home for delicious soup and homemade rolls for lunch.  It was a wonderful family day!  Families are truly forever!

Tom and Joan's Visit

Tom and Joan came to visit this past weekend - February 12th - 14th. We enjoyed being together and getting caught up on each other's lives.  Joan and I shopped while Hal golfed and Tom skied with Taylor and then on Friday night we went to dinner together at a Mexican/Peruvian restaurant.  The food was good but the service was not - it was a little crazy - but it was an adventure in dining in Payson!

Joan and I went for a walk together and saw deer and beautiful landscape.
We had to take a "selfie"!
The weather has been so extraordinarily warm with temperatures getting up into the 60's.  the mountains are so beautiful!

Joan made me the most beautiful quilt for Christmas and she gave it to me.  I truly love it and appreciate all of her hard work in creating it.  I will treasure it.  Joan said it had all the "Patty colors" - and I agree!

On Saturday morning before they left, we enjoyed a breakfast of macadamia nut waffles with fresh strawberries and syrup.  Taylor joined us for breakfast and this gave us an opportunity to see him.  He returned from his mission to the Dominican Republic after we left for our mission to Berlin - so we had not seen him for 3 1/2 years!
